The Georgia Senate made the final passage of the “Gurley Bill”, named after Georgia running back Todd Gurley, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday.

The bill states that if someone or a company knowingly enters into a contract with a student-athlete and conducts a transaction that could jeopardize that athlete’s scholarship, eligibility or amateur standing, they could receive a $25,000 fine and jail time.
Gurley was suspended for four games last season after he was caught signing memorabilia and accepting money from dealers.
